BY RAIL – Thiruvananthapuram comes under the southern railway zone. It one of the cheapest way of transport. Thiruvananthapuram is connected to other important cities of India and Kerala by trains. Regular trains are available for the states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu. For the tourists heading towards North India and Delhi, Himsagar Express is the perfect choice. The Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express connects the city to New Delhi, the capital of India.
BY ROAD – NH47 which passes through the city. All main city and town are connected with the state owned public transport buses KSRTC (Kerala state road transport cooperation). The central buses station is just opposite of central railway station. The minimum buses charge is Rs 5 in ordinary buses. There are also bus service operated by private operators and provides access within city limits and beyond. The central city bus terminal is located 1 km away at East Fort, near the Padmanabha Swamy temple.
