AKKULAM

Akkulam is located about 10 km from the Trivandrum city, and 7km from the international airport.

Akkulam is one of the main tourist place of Trivandrum.The spot is developed on the banks of Akulam Lake, which is an extension of the Veli Lake. It is well known for backwater Tourism.Akkulam Lake is an extension of the Veli Lake, where we can see the backwater join with the sea. The calm and serene atmosphere and its natural beauty make the akkulam as a famous tourist place. It consists of a beautiful children park and a well developed swimming pool. There is a separate swimming pool for adults.

Swimming suit is at the pool compulsory. The Children’s Park is a unique amusement spot and has several new rides that have been included recently.

Boat rentals: (Open 10am - 6 pm),

Lunch break: 1pm to 2.30 pm

                  

Safari boat: Rs. 250 for 21 people;

 Pedal boat: Rs. 60 for four persons;

Rowboat    :Rs. 40.

 Facilities

There is a restaurant and an ice-cream parlour inside the tourist village. Vehicle parking place available and there is a telephone booth out side the park from where we can make international, national and local calls from their. The international convention centre, which will be the largest in Kerala is under construction in Akkulam.
